Discussion Questions

Lead Me Home ~ Discussion Questions

*  What themes resonated most with you in this book?

*  What did you think of Shiloh? Was she likable?

*  Was it realistic for Shiloh to be so self-conscious about her level of education? Do you know women who have felt that kind of insecurity
about a particular issue or have you? How was it resolved?

* Do you think Shiloh was wrong for keeping such a significant secret from her husband?

* Do women routinely mask their true selves? If so, is this appropriate or harmful?

* Why was it important for Shiloh, Jade and several others, to share painful parts of their life’s journey?

* What did you think of Jade? Was she innately a showy person, or were her actions a sign of her insecurities?

* Were the women in church justified for judging Monica?

* Do you believe Shiloh took the right approach in addressing Monica’s difficult choices?

* Was Shiloh right to share her secrets with her young sons? Should she have been more concerned about the impact on her husband and family?

* What did you think of Shiloh’s relationship with her sisters? With her mother?

* Was Shiloh accurate in calling herself a people pleaser? How had that not only gotten her into trouble, but also impacted her relationship with God?

* How did you feel about Randy’s initial reaction to Shiloh’s secret?

* Randy acknowledged that his motives for initially choosing to marry Shiloh weren’t so innocent. How would that have made you feel if you were Shiloh?

* How did you feel about Lem’s reaction to Shiloh’s revelations?

* A lot of judging took place among these characters. What did you learn from the experiences of those being judged, as well as those
rendering judgment?

* Was this story an accurate portrayal of “church folk” and if so, in what way?

* In a time when there’s much talk about people leaving or avoiding church, should regular church
goers change how they interact with each other, or hold church, and if so  how?

* What did you take away from reading this book that may help you better relate to people who are different from you in personality, education attained, socioeconomic status, or otherwise?

Who knows where the written word will lead me next?
Thanks for joining me on this adventure."
