Your Realm of Relevance

Thursday, September 2nd, 2010

How will you make a difference today, without even knowing it?

Could be that your book or poem gives another hope, or that your smile lightens someone’s heart. Could be that your encouraging words erase someone’s deep doubt, or a hug restores faith that they’re lovable. Maybe a meeting for business leads down the path of friendship, or the pursuit of a personal goal puts you on course to help someone else achieve success.

People don’t always tell you what you mean to them; learn to trust that simply because you have life, you are meant to enjoy it yourself, and in the process, bless someone else. ~ SHA

Speak Life To Your Dreams

Sunday, January 31st, 2010

If you’ve read my novel, “Dreams That Won’t Let Go,” you know that each of the Burns siblings had at least one desire they longed to fulfill more than anything. Trouble was, none of them could figure out how to get what they wanted most, without first letting go of the outcome they had envisioned.

Have you found yourself in a similar place – stuck because you’re not sure how to climb the wall in front of you, or stalled because you don’t know which fork in the road leads to your personal pot of gold?

When we possess a dream, we often need vision to birth it.

Ask God to give you the courage to put your plans in His hands, kinowing that he may tell you, “Not now” or “Not this way.”

He just may say, “Go forth, and let me open many doors;” but when that hasn’t happened, or isn’t happening, what are we to do?

As the characters Reuben, Indigo and Yasmin learn in “Dreams That Won’t Let Go,” we must decide that the goal we long to achieve is bigger than our doubts, our setbacks and our foes. We must believe that if God is for us, we cannot fail.

Challenge yourself to spend the coming month not only thinking about the dreams you want to accomplish, but also acting on the steps below, every morning:

1) Pray for God to guide you a step closer to your goal.

2) Choose one Scripture that gives you hope or strengthens your faith and recite it throughout the day.

3) Stand in the mirror, look yourself in the eyes, and tell yourself that _____ (fill in the blank with your goal) is already yours, and that you are thriving and thankful for this realized dream.

4) Praise God in advance for granting this desire of your heart, and promise to give him honor when it is achieved.

5) Decide to be thankful for the challenges that slow your progress, and treat them as the steppingstones you need to build character, endurance and a deeper relationship with God, on your way to victory.

Throughout the month, speak life to, and blessings over, your dreams, and hide those words in your heart. When everyone else marvels at your success or triumph, you’ll know that God honored your hard work, your postiive words and your belief.

To Your Blessed Success,

Stacy
